About Us

Exal Industries, originally Exal Glasshouse Equipment was first formed 28 years ago. It soon became apparent to the directors that there was a gross lack of technology in greenhouses in NZ and made it their mission to rectify this

Exal was a pioneer in importing quality Dutch vent gear, computers and shade screens as well as manufacturing its own range of heaters, fans, propagation equipment and control gear.

In 1994 Exal became the south island agent and builder for Faber Glasshouses, that year Exal built 720m 2 . This figure has increased every year culminating in 50,000m2 being built last year. To undertake this quantity of work Exal has had to make large investments in machinery and plant, some of which is specialized and had to be designed and manufactured in house. The versatility of the Faber product combined with Exal's innovative approach and expertise have seen many turn key projects undertaken in NZ and overseas for commercial growers, government organisations and educational institutes.

Exal has never stopped manufacturing heating and ventilation equipment and is proud of the unique features offered in these ranges such as stainless steel heaters from 10kw to 60kw and rotomoulded fan cabinets, these are complemented by a complete range of inlet louvers, evaporative coolers, propagation equipment including thermostats, mist controllers, heat cables from 25 watt to 1150 watt as standard, benches of all types and much more.
